Can't Log Into Roblox? Every Fix
Can't get into your Roblox account? There are several different reasons this happens and each has its own fix. Find your situation below.
Problem 1: Wrong Password
The most common login issue. Roblox is case-sensitive for passwords.
If you know your password but it's not working:
- Check Caps Lock is off
- Make sure you're typing the correct username (not display name)
- Try copy-pasting the password if you know it exactly
If you've forgotten your password:
- Go to roblox.com and click Forgot Password
- Enter the email address on your account
- Check your inbox for a reset email (also check spam)
- Click the link and create a new password
If you don't have access to the email:
- Go to roblox.com/support
- Select Account → I can't access my account
- Fill in as much account information as you can (username, original email, account creation date)
- Roblox Support will help verify your identity and restore access
Problem 2: Account Locked or Temporarily Banned
If you see a message saying your account is locked or moderated:
Locked (suspicious activity): Roblox locks accounts if it detects unusual login attempts (e.g. someone trying to break into your account). To unlock:
- Go to roblox.com and try to log in
- You'll see a message about the lock
- Check your account email for an unlock email from Roblox
- Click the unlock link
Temporarily banned: If you violated Roblox's Terms of Service, your account may be temporarily banned. The login screen will show the ban reason and end date. Nothing to do except wait — or appeal via roblox.com/support if you believe it's an error.
Permanently banned: If the ban is permanent, the account cannot be recovered. You will need to create a new account.
Problem 3: Two-Step Verification Code Not Arriving
If 2-step verification is enabled and you're not receiving the code:
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Make sure you're checking the correct email address
- Wait 5 minutes — email delivery can be delayed
- Click Resend Code on the verification screen
If you've lost access to the email for 2FA: Contact Roblox Support at roblox.com/support with your account details. They can help restore access.
If you previously set up an authenticator app: Open the app (Google Authenticator, Authy etc.) and use the current 6-digit code shown there.
Problem 4: Page Won't Load / Blank Screen
If the login page is blank or the Login button does nothing:
- Clear browser cache: Ctrl + Shift + Delete → Clear cookies and cached files
- Try a different browser: If you're on Chrome, try Firefox or Edge
- Disable browser extensions: Some ad blockers or security extensions break Roblox's login page. Try in Incognito mode (which disables extensions by default)
- Check if Roblox is down: Visit our Is Roblox Down? page
Problem 5: "Too Many Attempts" Error
If you see this message, your IP address has been temporarily rate-limited due to multiple failed login attempts.
- Wait 30 minutes and try again
- If it persists, try from a different network (mobile hotspot)
- Make sure you're using the correct password before retrying
Problem 6: Login Works on Browser But Not the App
If you can log in on roblox.com but not the desktop or mobile app:
Desktop app:
- Fully close the app
- Clear the Roblox cache: %localappdata%\Roblox on Windows → delete logs folder
- Reopen and try logging in again
- If that fails, uninstall and reinstall the app
Mobile app:
- Force close the app completely
- Settings → Apps → Roblox → Clear Cache
- Reopen the app and try again
Problem 7: Child Account Can't Log In
If your child's account suddenly can't log in:
- The account may have been suspended for a Terms of Service violation — check the email associated with the account
- The password may have been changed — use Forgot Password on the account email
- If you set a PIN and changed the password, make sure you remember both
Securing Your Account After Getting Back In
Once you're back in, immediately:
- Change your password to something strong and unique
- Enable 2-step verification (Settings → Security)
- Check Connected Apps (Settings → Privacy → App Permissions) and remove anything unfamiliar
- Check your inventory and transactions for anything suspicious
If someone accessed your account, report it to Roblox Support.
FAQs
Q: My username doesn't exist anymore — did Roblox delete my account?
Roblox doesn't publicly confirm account deletions. If your username search comes up empty, the account may have been banned or deleted for Terms of Service violations. Contact Roblox Support.
Q: Someone hacked my account — what do I do?
Change your password immediately using Forgot Password. Then contact Roblox Support to report the unauthorized access. Check your email for any notifications of changes made while you were locked out.
Q: I don't remember what email I used to sign up.
Try every email address you might have used. If none work, contact Roblox Support with your username — they may be able to help identify the account.
